A Bit About Me
Ivana received an Honours Bachelor of Science in Molecular Biology and Physiology from the Faculty of Science and Mathematics of the University of Belgrade in 1993. Her professional career started in academic research and hospital core laboratories as a research technician, lab manager and core facility operator. It was from this perspective that she learned the importance of infrastructure and environment via the impact it had on the quality and ease of the basic and clinical research work being conducted.
In 2009, Ivana transitioned her career to Project Management at University Health Network in the Research Facilities and Safety team. Her knowledge as the client of supplied facilities and services has served her well, her role including responsibility for medium to large scale laboratory design, renovation and relocation. Her stakeholders benefit from the knowledge she carries forward and builds on, which these days also includes sustainable approaches to laboratory commissioning and decommissioning. Developing and using modular approaches in the planning and execution phases has proven to work well with her stakeholders.
In a more senior role as a Project Manager with the Facilities Planning & Development as part of Redevelopment team at CAMH, Ivana can be found bridging gaps with all stakeholders, from the end user through to the suppliers and constructors. By applying her experience as both the client and the provider/planner/executor she has become a go-to resource for her team.
